Robert R. Copple’s artistic journey began in Los Angeles, where as a child he sketched the birds and animals that stirred his imagination and built his appreciation for the natural world.
After earning majors in painting and photography, and a minor in ornithology/biology at Cornell University, he returned to his studio with a clear purpose: to devote himself full-time to original art grounded in nature, emotion, and craftsmanship.
Over decades, he has built a rich body of work that explores wildlife, light, form and story, from the quiet intensity of a hawk’s gaze to the sweeping drama of a wild landscape. What Is a Giclee Print?
Simply put, a giclee is a fine art print created by using a specialized high resolution inkjet printer. Weather The Storm is a groundbreaking collaboration between wildlife artist Robert Copple and filmmaker John Rousseau, commissioned by SRA 831(b) Admin. The project features a major original painting depicting American buffalo charging into an approaching storm, an iconic metaphor for meeting adversity head-on. Over the course of a year, Rousseau documented the creative journey, producing an immersive short documentary film.
